Jacksdale and Underwood Surgeries Online

Jacksdale and Underwood SurgeriesJacksdale Medical Centre is situated in the heart of Jacksdale village.  Jacksdale is the oldest village within the Selston Parish at the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. It has most of the essential services such as the Medical Centre, Dental Surgery, Post Office, Community Centre and shops, providing a variety of daily needs. The pharmacy is situated next door to the surgery.

UNDERWOOD SURGERY

An application has been made to NHS England to close our branch site at Underwood.  The dispensing status of patients who were eligible to get their medication from Underwood has been deducted by NHS England over the last few years.  When Dr Rajah took over the practice in 2004 we dispensed to over 1700 patients.  Due to the next round of deductions due in April 2016 we would be dispensing to only 300 patients.  This makes the practice financially unstable.

Dr Rajah has also announced and submitted his retirement plan to NHS England which has been accepted.  He clinically retired from seeing patients in December 2015 and will work closely with the Practice Manager, CCG and NHS England until March 2016 to ensure a successor is appointed to continue his tireless work.

ALL PATIENTS WILL REMAIN REGISTERED WITH THE PRACTICE AND SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED AT JACKSDALE.  WE AIM TO INCREASE OUR LEVEL OF CLINICAL STAFF WITH THE ADDITION OF ANOTHER GP AND TWO HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS TO WORK ALONGSIDE THE PRACTICE NURSE.  THE LOCAL PHARMACIES WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE A COLLECTION AND DELIVERY SERVICE FOR REPEAT MEDICATIONS.

JACKSDALE SURGERY IS NOT CLOSING DESPITE RUMOURS TO THE CONTRARY

The practice is working closely with NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Group, local Council and other outside agencies to ensure a smooth transition of services for patients.
