GP Earnings Statement
NHS England requires that the gross earnings of doctors engaged in the practice are published. The required disclosure is shown below.
However, it is important to note that the prescribed method for calculating these figures can be misleading, as it does not account for the number of hours or sessions each doctor works. Therefore, the figures should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make comparisons with other practices‡.
The average gross pay for GPs working at Jacksdale Medical Centre in the 2024/25 financial year was approximately £98,619 before tax and National Insurance.
This figure represents 2 full-time GPs and 1 part-time GP who worked in the practice for more than six months‡.
‡ Statement as recommended by the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA).
A full-time GP at Jacksdale Medical Centre may work in excess of 52 hours per week.
A part-time GP may work fewer hours or clinical sessions, though some work in excess of 39 hours per week.
Learn More About Practice and NHS Finances
We understand that patients may wish to know more about how GP practices and the wider NHS are funded and managed.
If you are interested in learning more or sharing your views, we warmly invite you to attend our quarterly Patient Participation Group (PPG) panel.
The PPG provides an open and friendly forum for patients to discuss practice matters, hear updates from our team, and gain a better understanding of how NHS resources are used locally.
