Veteran Friendly Accredited Practice
Jacksdale Medical Centre is proud to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited Practice. This accreditation, awarded by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in partnership with NHS England, recognises our commitment to providing the highest standard of care for our patients who have served in the British Armed Forces.
What This Means for Our Veteran Patients
As a Veteran Friendly Accredited Practice, we have undertaken specific training and developed a tailored approach to meet the unique healthcare needs of military veterans. This includes:
- Identifying patients who have served in the Armed Forces
- Understanding the physical, emotional and mental health issues that may arise as a result of service, including those related to operational deployment
- Ensuring veterans are referred to appropriate NHS services or specialist veteran services when needed
- Raising awareness among all practice staff about the specific needs of veterans
Veterans are entitled to priority access to NHS care for conditions related to their service (subject to clinical need). We are committed to supporting our veteran patients with understanding, respect and continuity of care.
Our Clinical Lead
Dr Amina Hussain is the designated Veteran’s Health Lead at Jacksdale Medical Centre. Dr Hussain has undertaken additional training as part of the RCGP accreditation process and serves as the point of contact for veteran-related health concerns within the practice. She is dedicated to ensuring our veteran patients receive timely, appropriate and compassionate care.
If you are a veteran and would like to make us aware of your service history, please speak to a member of our reception team or your GP. This will help us tailor your care more effectively and ensure your records are updated accordingly.
